Pillars
TEACHING
The project focuses on developing and testing a relevant curriculum in integrated urban development at the honours level at NUST, with a strong emphasis on localising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of peri-urban and urban Namibia.
RESEARCH
The project centres on establishing an SDGs GoGlocal Master Thesis Research Group, where research findings and knowledge on localising the SDGs will be co-produced in collaboration with non-academic actors such as the Namibia Housing Action Group (NHAG), the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia (SDFN), and various Namibian local authorities.
LEARNING HUB
The project’s higher education management and communication strategy includes the establishment of an SDGs GoGlocal Action Learning Hub, supporting the "third mission" in higher education. The NUST Department of Architecture, Planning, and Construction will strengthen and expand existing methods to enhance community engagement with local communities and relevant stakeholders.
