SDG Localising SDG's Teaching, Learning and Research

ABOUT

GOGLOCAL [2021 - 2026]

The SDG GoGlocal project is a 4-year research initiative (2023-2026) collaboratively undertaken by the University of Stuttgart (USTUTT) in Germany, Ain Shams University (ASU) in Cairo, Egypt, and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST)

Funded by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) & Bundesministerin für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), the project adopts an integrated and transdisciplinary approach to firmly localise the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within urban development. Using a co-productive process, it fosters knowledge exchange and generation, aiming to enhance research, teaching, and learning. Prioritising sustainable urbanisation, the initiative seeks to build a dynamic translocal academic network that promotes collaboration across South-South and South-North axes. The project also strengthens education and research at NUST by partnering with local academic and non-academic stakeholders to address key urban challenges, particularly in informal settlement upgrading and sustainable development.
